This Saturday, Warrington Borough Council is hosting a Community Walking Day Heritage Event celebrating the history and traditions of one of our town’s most cherished customs.

Although many people were naturally disappointed that the traditional Walking Day procession could not take place this year, this event provides an opportunity to come together, learn more about its rich heritage and celebrate the part it has played in the life of Warrington.

As Unitarians, we are particularly pleased to see an event that welcomes the whole community and gives us the opportunity to take part in celebrating this shared heritage. We encourage anyone who is able to come along and lend their support. A strong turnout will help demonstrate that Walking Day remains an important part of Warrington’s identity and that its history deserves to be remembered and celebrated for generations to come.
