The Merseyside Unitarian Ministry Partnership invites interested and qualified individuals to apply for a rewarding leadership role within our community. Due to Reverend Bob Janis-Dillon’s decision to pursue a new career path, we are now seeking a dedicated and inspiring individual to fill the vacancy in our Unitarian Ministry.

The successful appointee will serve three congregations: Park Lane Chapel (Bryn, Wigan), Cairo Street Chapel (Warrington), and Matthew Henry Chapel (Chester). The focus will primarily be on the Park Lane and Cairo Street Chapels, with Chester being a smaller congregation.

While leading all the services in each church is not a requirement, the new minister will be encouraged to guide others within each congregation to develop their contributions to worship, pastoral work, outreach, rites of passage, religious education, and more. Our aim is to foster a nurturing and supportive environment where the spiritual growth of all members is prioritised.

The Merseyside Unitarian Ministry Partnership has been working together since 2004, supported by a renewable five-year Agreement, and substantial financial aid from the Merseyside District Ministry Association (MDMA). A representative Partnership Committee organizes the work of the Partnership, and we are committed to ensuring the sustainability and longevity of this role within our community.

If appointed as a Minister or Lay Pastor on the GA Roll, we offer the GA recommended stipend plus a 10% increment. The remuneration for a part-time role will be offered on a pro-rata basis. For laypersons appointed to the role, remuneration packages will be discussed and adjusted to reflect the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

We encourage all interested individuals to learn more about the role and how to apply by contacting our Partnership Committee for a Role Description. We look forward to discussing this exciting opportunity with prospective candidates.

Please direct all enquiries and applications to Richard Merritt, his email is richardandhelenmerritt@hotmail.com.
